The Subaru STI S209 Is Making Its Way To America

For years Subaru rally car enthusiasts here in the States have admired the Subaru STI S209 from afar and only dreamed of owning one. But that is all about to change as the 2019 Subaru STI S209 is making the long trek from Japan to the streets here at home.

The Subaru STI S209 is the most powerful, best-handling performance car that Subaru has ever built and made its big stage debut at the Detroit Auto Show last month. The STI, Subaru Tecnica International, division has spent countless hours designing the special edition S209 to deliver the highest level of thrilling performance. Under the hood is a powerful Subaru BOXER engine with a larger turbocharger to produce 341 horsepower and can go from zero-to-60 in less than 5 seconds. The S209 also features a new low-restriction exhaust to reduce back pressure and amplify the unique BOXER rumble. For impressive power on demand, the 2019 S209 features an intercooler water-spray system that is activated by a column-mounted paddle. The intercooler water-spray system works by dropping the engine intake temperatures to increase power.

Gripping performance is an understatement. The 2019 STI 209 is born from motorsports and technicians made extensive tuning changes to the suspension and body for one of a kind performance. The updates to the suspension and body for the S209 improves handling, cornering grip, and turn-in. The special STI-tuned Bilstein® dampers and STI-designed front and rear draw stiffeners significantly raise the S209's stability and balance. With impressive power under the hood, the S209 is equipped with Brembo performance braking system features silver-finished six-piston front and two-piston rear monoblock calipers.

The 2019 Subaru STI S209 is expected to arrive this coming fall in limited numbers. For more information about getting your hands on the exhilarating S209 stop by Subaru World of Newton to speak with a member of our team.
